U.S. Olympic Committee Chooses HH USA
| The United States Olympic Committee and USA Boxing have chosen Heavy Hitters USA to implement the pilot program “Gloves, Not Guns”. Gloves, Not Guns identifies and recruits new athletes to boxing by funding youth programs in a 6-8 week awareness campaign. To those not familiar with the long-lasting and far-reaching implications of youth boxing, Heavy Hitters USA is not in the business of teaching kids how to fight. Rather, we teach self-discipline and foster self-awareness. Within the program, numerous lessons in character development help youth build bridges to their futures. The privilege to be chosen to run this program speaks volumes of the validity of our existing curriculum and allows us to broaden our reputation in youth leadership and puts Heavy Hitters USA at the forefront of programs recognized by national organizations in athletics. Heavy Hitters USA is both proud and humbled to be chosen as one of three gyms in the state of Connecticut to participate in USA Boxing and the United States Olympic Committee’s Urban Development grant program. |  |
